Short documentary film about transgender and non-binary young people's experiences in school
The film consists of interviews with seven trans and non-binary young people from across the North West area in England
The young people interviewed discuss their experiences as trans people in school and how this has effected their mental health and education, and also address what needs to be done to improve the situation so that trans students are accepted and understood at school like any other student.
The film also highlights the negative experiences many trans young people face in school as a result of schools lacking understanding and education about trans identities and how to support these students.
This film was made in association with the LGBTQ+ charity: Stonewall, as part of the Young Campaigners Program and was awarded the 'Stonewall Young Campaigner of the Year Award' as a result of this campaign and short film
Screened as part of Queer Soap Box @ Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool 9th July 2019 | Hosted by Aay liparoto.
